§ 01How-to

How do I cut audio online?

A couple of drags and you've got the part you want. Accurate to 0.1 seconds, and you can listen as you adjust.

  • Clip a chorus for a ringtone
  • Trim the silence at the start
  • Keep just one part of a recording
  • Make a background track for a video
  1. Choose a file

Click the box above, or drag in an audio or video file — the waveform is drawn within seconds.

  2. Drag to set start and end

Drag the handles on either side of the waveform, or type the start and end times; click "Play selection" to check.

  3. Export and download

Add fade in/out if you like, pick a format and export. The file name gets "-clip" added, so the original isn't overwritten.

§ 02FAQ
Q1How do I make a more precise selection?
Drag the side handles to get close, then fine-tune by typing a time (like 1:23.5) into "Start" and "End"; or, while listening, click "Use playhead" at the right moment. With a handle selected, the arrow keys move it by 0.1 seconds.
Q2What are fade in and fade out for?
They ramp the clip up at the start and down at the end, so it doesn't cut off abruptly — more natural for phone ringtones and video soundtracks.
Q3Does cutting lower the quality?
Exporting WAV or FLAC adds no further compression; MP3 and M4A are re-encoded once — choose a higher quality setting and you'll hardly hear a difference.
Q4Can I cut videos too?
Yes. Choose a video file and it cuts the sound inside, exporting an audio file.
Q5Is my file uploaded? Do I need to log in?
No upload and no login. Cutting happens entirely in your browser, with no usage limits.
