Stereo Channel Tool

Extract the left or right channel, swap them, mix down to mono, or turn mono into stereo. Once you pick a file we check both channels first — for KTV files with separate left and right channels, you can pull out the backing-track side directly.

§ 01How-to

How do I extract the left or right channel online?

Pick a file and within seconds we'll tell you whether it's normal stereo, identical on both sides, or a KTV file with separate channels — plus a suggestion.

  • Keep only the backing side of a KTV dual-channel file
  • Fix a recording that only plays in one ear
  • Swap back left and right that are reversed
  • Stereo to mono for podcasts and voiceovers
  1. Choose a file

Click the box above, or drag in an audio or video file. Files up to 20 minutes are supported.

  2. Check the result, listen to each side

The check card explains what's on each channel; while playing, tap "Left" and "Right" to switch and find the side you want.

  3. Choose an action, export

Choose an action such as "Left only", "Swap left and right" or "Mix to mono", plus an export format — then preview and download.

§ 02FAQ
Q1What is a KTV dual-channel file?
Some KTV and karaoke videos put the original vocal on one channel and the backing track on the other — switching between "vocal / backing" just plays one side. For files like this, taking the backing side gives you the backing track. The check is inferred from the sound of each channel, so we only say "may be" — listen to both sides before exporting.
Q2Can I remove the vocals from a normal song by keeping one side?
No. In a normal stereo song the vocals sit in the center and are on both sides, so you'll still hear them on either channel. For a backing track without vocals, use AI separation (paid, with a free preview first).
Q3Does "Left only" export mono or stereo?
Your choice. By default it exports stereo: both sides carry the left channel's sound, so you hear it in both ears with headphones. Mono has just one channel, and WAV or FLAC files come out about half the size.
Q4Will mixing to mono make it quieter or distort?
By default left and right are averaged, so content that's the same on both sides keeps its volume and isn't more likely to distort. If the two channels are out of phase they cancel each other out and go nearly silent — the check card will remind you to fix the phase first.
Q5Are files uploaded? Do I need to log in?
Nothing is uploaded. It's free after you log in, with no usage limits; checking and processing happen entirely in your browser. Each run handles audio up to 20 minutes.
