§ 01How-to

How do I use the online equalizer?

An equalizer adjusts sound by frequency: lows control fullness, mids carry the voice, highs control brightness. Pick a preset and go, or tune 5 bands yourself.

  • Make vocals and voiceovers clearer
  • Add some bass to a song
  • Reduce low-end hum in a recording
  • Create a telephone or walkie-talkie effect
  1. Choose a file

Click the box above or drag in an audio or video file. Up to 20 minutes per file, all processed in your browser.

  2. Pick a preset or tune it yourself

Tap a preset card, or choose “Custom” and drag the five sliders from 60 Hz to 12 kHz (pre-filled with the rough shape of the current preset). The curve shows live how much each frequency is boosted or cut; tap “Preview” to switch between the original and the EQ'd version.

  3. Export and download

Pick a format and export. The file name gets “-eq” added, so your original isn't overwritten.

§ 02FAQ
Q1What is an equalizer (EQ), and when should I use it?
An equalizer boosts or cuts sound by frequency: lows give fullness and punch, mids carry the voice, highs give brightness and clarity. Use it when the sound feels muffled, thin or harsh, or when there isn't enough bass.
Q2What exactly does each preset do?
Clearer vocals: gradually cuts below 80 Hz (about −12 dB at 40 Hz), −2 dB at 300 Hz, +3 dB at 3 kHz. Bass boost: +4 dB below 100 Hz. Reduce rumble: gradually cuts from 100 Hz down, about −12 dB at 50 Hz; mains hum at 100 Hz and 150 Hz is only reduced by about 3 dB and 1 dB. Brighter: +3 dB above 8 kHz. Telephone effect: keeps only 300–3400 Hz. Softer: −3 dB above 6 kHz.
Q3Why is the export quieter?
Boosting some frequencies can push peaks over the limit and cause clipping. Most finished songs are already loud, so even a 3–4 dB boost often triggers this: the tool turns the whole track down evenly so peaks stay under −1 dBFS, and the result says by how many dB. Your EQ tone doesn't change. The telephone effect removes most lows and highs, so sounding quieter is normal there.
Q4Can I EQ just the vocals or just the backing track?
No. The equalizer adjusts frequencies across the whole audio, so wherever vocals and backing share a frequency, both change together. To remove vocals for a backing track, use vocal separation on this site — preview first, then decide.
Q5Are files uploaded? Do I need to log in?
Nothing is uploaded. Log in to use it free with no usage limits; EQ happens entirely in your browser, for files up to 500 MB and 20 minutes.
